Why become a Member?


Joining the Fair Trade Association gives you a voice to support Fair Trade. The more voices we have, the stronger we grow.  

Full membership with the Fair Trade Association is open to businesses and organisations wishing to promote and support Fair Trade. Individuals seeking to support the growth of Fair Trade should become a Friend of Fair Trade

Note that membership of the Fair Trade Association does not imply any endorsement of any business, product, activity or service of any members. Businesses seeking endorsement should apply to the Fair Trade Association to become a Fair Trader of Australia.


What are the benefits of being a Member?

As a member of the Fair Trade Association you receive a number of benefits.

Your membership supports growth and awareness of Fair Trade within our region. You have the opportunity to engage with Fair Trade endorsed businesses and learn how to improve your fair trade practice. The Fair Trade Association offers support and networking with like-minded people. As a member, we aim to keep you connected and up to date with developments within the global Fair Trade Movement. 

Some of the benefits include:

  • Social media posts keep you up to date with forthcoming local fair trade events or campaigns such as Fair Trade Fortnight.
  • Receive a regular FTA Newsletter full of information and updates from the global Fair Trade Movement. 
  • Opportunities for local support and networking with other social enterprises.
  • Participate in the Fair Trade Association's AGM as a voting member. 
  • Participate in our Annual Conference.

How do I become a Member?

To become a member please fill out the form below and get in touch with the Association. Please take note of the membership fees and identify which category your business fits by entering the Annual Turnover below.

Membership is open to businesses and organisations wishing to support and promote Fair Trade. If you are an individual who would like to get involved with Fair Trade, please see the Friends of Fair Trade page. 

Membership Fees

Micro Organisation  (<$100k turnover)

$94 inclusive of GST

Small Organisation ($100k - 500k turnover)

$187 inclusive of GST

Medium Organisation ($500k - 5m turnover)

$349 inclusive of GST

Large Organisation (>$5m turnover)

$689 inclusive of GST
